Topic Inquiry Research Day
Overview: Students will begin to conduct research relating to their inquiry topic. Students will work in groups and will begin to fill in their graphic organizers. Each student will have a specific research task based on their predetermined group role.

Objectives:
Students will be able to research and analyze primary and secondary sources relating to their chosen topics.Students will be able to select credible sources for their research.
Students can identify and explain the different actions the government takes during times of crisis.
Activities and Procedure:
Teacher will model the use of the graphic organizer through her own research practices.
Students will be given a graphic organizer to help guide their learning and research.
Students will be expected to have their Work Plan Form completed by the end of class.
Students will use a variety of primary and secondary sources such as websites, images, videos and teacher selected resources in order to complete their graphic organizer.
Materials: Work Plan Form, Research Graphic Organizer, Computer with Internet access, Teacher selected materials related to student topic.
Additional Notes: Teacher will monitor and observe student progress. Materials that teachers will provide will be based on student choice, which was decided in Lesson 2. Teacher will provide scaffolding and support throughout student research.
Assessment: Anecdotal notes and final project evaluation
