Day 6 Lesson Plan

Grade Level: 11th

Topic:  Inquiry Project Day : Continued research and conference day

Overview:  Students within their groups, will continue to research their chosen topic for the inquiry project.  During this lesson the teacher will be holding conferences with groups individually to check progress, answer  any questions, and offer further guidance.

Objectives:
Students will be able to finish any further research needed for their groups' inquiry project.
Students will be able to conference with their teacher in order to clarify any questions they may have and to check for group progress.
Students will be able to work with their groups in developing a plan they wish to present their project.

Activities/Procedure:
Students will be instructed to continue working on any research still needed for their group inquiry project.
During this class period, the teacher will meet with each group discussing their progress on the project, going over any questions they may have, and offer any further guidance / assistance.

Materials:  Access to the library and computers

Assessment:  Teachers in conference will check membership grid to ensure that students are progressing through the project.

Cross - Curricular Connections:  The inquiry project has a direct connection to many of the skills emphasized in the ELA classes.  Certain skills developed involve research, summary skills, and learning to be critical readers of documents.
